Menus

The menu bar offers options which allow the JET user to initiate JET function, or to customise the specific JET user configuration. When a JET function is dimmed in the menu bar this means it is not applicable at that time (for example, if no text has been selected, it is not applicable to copy it).

The JET menu bar includes:

  • File
    • Log Debug Data - Toggles logging of debugging and tracing information (see Debug Logging preference).
    • Print Screen - Prints the terminal screen.
    • Receive file from host
    • Send file to host
    • Quit
  • Edit
    • Cut - Copies the selected text to the clipboard then deletes it.
    • Copy - Copies the selected text to the clipboard.
    • Paste - Inserts text from the clipboard at the cursor location. The clipboard contents may be from the JET 3270 terminal screen or another application.
  • Preferences
    • Edit Preferences Sets... - Displays the Edit Preference Sets dialog box, used to change, create, duplicate and delete preference sets.
    • Edit Host List... - Display the Edit Host List dialog box, used to configure properties of hosts, including their preference set.
    • Show Tool Bar
    • Show Keyboard
    • Show Status Bar
    • Save Preferences and Host List - Save the current preferences and host list to the saved preferences file.
  • Connection
    • Connect... - Prompts for a hostname and port, then connects to the specified hostname/port.
    • Reconnect - Connects to the current hostname/port.
    • Disconnect - Terminates an existing connection.
    • Stop Script - Stops a running script.
  • Help
    • JET 3270 How To - Displays the JET 3270 How To page which provides information on how to perform some basic JET 3270 tasks.
    • JET 3270 Documentation - Displays the start page of the JET 3270 Documentation which provides information on JET 3270 installation, configuration and use.
    • Show Version - Displays version information on the status bar.
